RECONCILIATION AUSTRALIA

A campaign to celebrate and recognise the ongoing journey of reconciliation in Australia.

THE SITUATION

To celebrate their 20th anniversary year, Reconciliation Australia wanted a visual identity and positioning statement that reflected a message of unity, that feels inspirational, aspirational and is attainable to a broad Australian public. The mission is underpinned by the five dimensions; Historical Acceptance; Race Relations; Equality and Equity; Institutional Integrity; and Unity.

THE SOLUTION

‘In This Together’ is a strong message of a united Australia that asks people to commit, speak out and be counted in the movement of reconciliation. This concept was ideated in September 2019 and we could not have imagined how much more resonance this statement had by May 2020 with COVID-19. We were honoured to collaborate with the Reconciliation Australia team and Biripi/Bunjalung artist, Nikita Ridgeway on the 2020 campaign.

Reconciliation is a never ending journey we are all on together. The campaign logo is a visual representation of this concept. The symbols show Australians at different stages of the journey of reconciliation. The larger circles represent community. The track represents the story and the many ways reconciliation is celebrated throughout Australia as we reflect on our nation’s past, present and hope for the future.
