Branded social media campaigns for ActionAid’s digital fundraising

THE SITUATION

ActionAid Australia is a women’s rights organisation who campaign against injustice. Their digital and social media campaigns raise donations to help support local women’s organisations in 45 countries around the world. ActionAid’s digital campaigns often run alongside their direct mail marketing campaigns, but need to speak to an online audience and create engagement.

THE SOLUTION

We created a number of branded campaigns that would increase engagement for their online fundraising campaigns. Each campaign had a unique brand, messaging and design to keep existing followers engaged as well as increasing the reach to new donors.

Recent campaigns include ‘She Wears The Cost’. She Wears the Cost raised awareness and donations to support women in the garment sector who are exposed to unsafe and exploitative conditions. The campaign included a week long event where you could ‘Pledge your Purchase’ – donating the same amount as your last purchase to help the women who make our clothes. Donors could help spread the message further by taking a picture of themselves holding up their last purchase and using the #pledgeyourpuchase hashtag. By taking part in Pledge Your Purchase people had a tangible way to make a difference and help empower the women behind the clothes we wear.
